Pleasant Grove Rock Opera

A rock opera for the rest of us (think The Wall meets Les Miserables!)

Pleasant Grove is a musical saga rooted in true events. In the 1970s, the tragedy of a teenage boy named Alden Barrett shook his family and their tight-knit, deeply conservative small town. What follows is an intense, honest story about love, family, mental illness, fear and judgment, extremism, and ultimately forgiveness and healing.

We're Jack Donaldson and Bryan Hall. We grew up next to Pleasant Grove, and we've spent decades writing this show with our band, Bay of Pigs. Now we're building it here in the open, one song at a time: a new animatic and a follow-up video where we discuss all things behind the story.

We can't do it alone, and we don't want to. Auditions for singers and artists are coming soon, and we want this community with us at every step, all the way to the stage.
