This channel contains excerpts from the lectures and talks at the Philosophy & Art Collaboratory, where ordinary individuals care more about discourses on philosophy, culture, and art than their own business. The curious rambles sometimes turn out to be demanding inquiries into sustained research and patience. Reading and thinking are nothing more or less than the practice of shifting a life situation from a discordant condition to a harmonious one, so that the understanding is practically mediated by actual experience. 

Knowledge is not about denotative statements that may be declared true or false. It is not even about “know thyself.” It is about know-how, knowing how to live, and the care of the self. Knowledge enriches an understanding of ordinary life and the ways in which life can be improved. Knowledge should not be an institutional property but a constitutive element of ordinary life.
