Paula Walters - The Courageous Survivor

Welcome! I'm Paula Walters. 💜

I'm a speaker, educator, advocate, podcast host, and paramedic with over 25 years of experience in emergency medicine. My personal journey through trauma, traumatic brain injury, and chronic health challenges has taught me the importance of asking not just "What's wrong with me?" but "What happened inside me because of what happened to me?"

Through The Courageous Survivor, I explore how life experiences, trauma, and the brain influence our behavior, relationships, health, and healing.

Here you'll find educational videos, research discussions, The Courageous Journey podcast, and personal glimpses into my rehabilitation, everyday life, and ongoing journey of learning and healing.

Whether you're a survivor, professional, caregiver, or simply curious about the human experience, you're welcome here.

Healing begins with understanding.
