OutL13r Music

Jeremiah Gilliam known as OutL13r is an artist, producer and engineer from Richmond, VA that specializes in soul-hop and RnB. His work is an amalgamation of Black music. His music is for the nihilistic yet empathetic people of the world. An “OutL13r” is someone in which music serves as a refuge and counsel throughout the human experience. His inspirations come from the music he grew up on. Thanks to his grandmother and father he learned to love the jazz inspired arrangements, vocal stacks and captivating storytelling of Marvin Gaye combined with the grit and swing of hiphop. With the contrasting views and environment provided to him by them it allowed him to be an artist that accels in flexibility in genre and story-telling. Names like A Tribe Called Quest and Outkast taught him about sampling, aggressive and choppy flows and heavy bass. He works to recontextualize these ideas into modern day music.
