🎵 About Orchestra Super Mazembe
The Giants of East Africa | Classic Lingala & Rumba Pioneers

Orchestra Super Mazembe was a trailblazing Kenyan-Congolese rumba band that defined the golden era of East African dance music. Formed in Zaire in 1967 as "Super Vox" by Mutonkole Longwa Didos, the group relocated to Nairobi in 1974, rebranding as Super Mazembe ("Earth Movers").

Fusing smooth Congolese rumba with sharp Kenyan Benga rhythms, they created an irresistible sound that dominated Nairobi's 1970s and 1980s club scene. Their magnum opus, "Shauri Yako," remains one of the most celebrated hits in African music history, alongside anthems like "Kassongo" and "Samba."

This official channel is dedicated to preserving their legacy, featuring remastered audio, classic hits, and deep cuts from the golden age of Soukous and Zilizopendwa.
