Normandy 🇫🇷

Normandy and Impressionism go hand in hand. This was where the movement started, attracting the group of 19th century painters who created this revolution. The new artists worked outdoors, capturing light and its changing facets, depicting ordinary people at their daily tasks, rural scenes and small towns and villages. Impressionism began when Clause Monet painted a view of La Havre - a chic seaside resort much beloved by smart Parisians.

The cities of Deauville and Trouville-sur-Mer are next to each other.
You can visit both of them on foot. The city of Deauville is known for its Film Festival, Casino, and its luxury setting.
Deauville is home to a lovely marina while Trouville is still an active fishing port. Here you can see the trawlers come and go and purchase the latest catch from the fishermen on the quays (sole, mackerel, wild sea bass, scallops, etc).
