National Cancer Control Plan

Nigeria envisions a future where the cancer burden is reduced by 50% by 2030 through a multi-sectoral, sustainable approach that leverages existing health systems and resources. The National Cancer Control Plan (NCCP) aims to strengthen the public health system by ensuring it is adequately equipped and staffed with trained, competent personnel to deliver comprehensive cancer care across the continuum; including risk assessment, prevention, screening and early detection, diagnosis, treatment, survivorship, and end-of-life care services nationwide.

The primary goal is to reduce cancer incidence and mortality in Nigeria by 50% by 2030. This initiative provides a guiding framework for collaboration between federal and state governments, development partners, civil society organizations, and NGOs to improve access to quality cancer services and strengthen health outcomes across the country.
