My Greatest Journey: Searching for My Birth Family

Welcome to my greatest journey! 

My parents always tell people they "ordered out" when it came to having children. It's a running joke in my family. Their way of saying that they adopted me. My name is Jake Buckingham and I'm a writer, producer, director and filmmaker. I was adopted from the Philippines in 1987 and I grew up in Omaha, Nebraska. My 20-year career includes work for WOWT-TV, ABC News 20/20, Primetime Thursday, ITV Studios and other media organizations. Over the last two decades I've told and shared many powerful stories. The only one I haven't told is the one I'm working on right now. It's the story of my life here in America and my journey to find my birth family. The fear of the unknown can be so overwhelming at times, but my search for answers doesn't have to be. And that's why I've decided to share my story with others. I hope it will help other adoptees gain the courage to share their story and search for their birth family if they have that desire.
