Daniel Musek violin maker

Mother Violin is a groundbreaking project creating approximately twelve exceptional string instruments from 6,500-year-old fir wood recently excavated in the Alps. Preserved for millennia, this rare material will be used not only for the instrument tops, but also for all internal components, including the anima or the sound post.

The vision is to establish the world’s most exclusive group of string instruments—instantly recognizable for their extraordinary origin while delivering tonal excellence demanded by leading soloists. Each instrument will unite historical depth, acoustic innovation, and master craftsmanship.

The project is led by internationally acclaimed violin maker Daniel Musek, trained in Cremona under V. Bissolotti, a representative of one of Italy’s most important violin-making families of the 20th century.

Mother Violin is a fusion of nature, time, and craftsmanship—an exploration of how ancient materials can shape the future of sound.
