Hailed with “honest” & “transparently clean” singing, tenor Mitchell Sturges, a Utah native, has gained recognition for “inspired performances” and leaving audiences “entertained and edified.” He is currently Artist-in-Residence at St. James Episcopal Church in Utah, giving recitals that highlight new works & are noted for their innovative programming. Mitchell is known for his commitment to exploring & performing a vast array of song repertoire, with a special passion for modern American song. Mr. Sturges made his international début singing Don Basilio in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro in Vienna, Austria where he performed for 3 years. A consummate concert artist, he has been featured throughout Vienna, OH, KY, and the American Southwest performing the works of Bach, Britten, Händel, Haydn, Mozart, Orff, and Schubert with Lutherische Stadtkirche, Musica Sacra-Cincinnati, Bach Ensemble of St. Thomas, Collegium Cincinnati, Tucson Masterworks Chorale, and Southwest Symphony Orchestra.
