Marian Lamoureux Hinsdale

Marian Lamoureux of Hinsdale is a piano instructor and music educator with more than four decades of teaching experience. She was born in Newcastle, Pennsylvania in 1959 and moved with her family to Ontario, Canada at the age of five, where she began piano lessons at seven. By sixteen, she was teaching beginning students of her own. She studied at the University of Western Ontario, earning an Honors Bachelor of Music in Music Education and a Bachelor of Education, and completed her teaching certification in 1984. She taught in the Ontario school system for ten years while running a private piano studio and raising three children. In 1999, she moved her family to Illinois and spent the next decade focused on full-time parenting. She now teaches piano from her home to both children and adults, and prepares students for Royal Conservatory of Music examinations. Her own early training earned her scholarships to the University of Western Ontario and the Banff School of Fine Arts.
