Making Sense of National Board Certification

Making Sense of National Board Certification is dedicated to helping National Board candidates clearly understand what scorers are actually looking for.

This channel breaks down:
• National Board scoring language
• Common mistakes that lower scores
• How to write clear, evidence-based analysis
• Differences between Components 2 and 3
• What “strong evidence” really looks like

The focus is not on test prep shortcuts, but on precision—using language and structures that align with National Board rubrics and scoring expectations.

Many candidates struggle not because they are ineffective teachers, but because their written analysis does not clearly show the impact of their instructional decisions. These videos are designed to close that gap.
