In the Studio with M. Joy Lemon

Hi, I’m M. Joy Lemon. Welcome to a channel dedicated to traditional painting and drawing.

Rooted in classical training, I share honest, practical demonstrations and real-time progress videos that reveal the actual process of building paintings and drawings. Whether you’re drawn to luminous watercolor washes, rich oil painting techniques, or the foundational structure of block-in drawing, you’ll find clear, in-depth guidance and skill-building content.

From studio sessions and class demonstrations to focused exercises, this channel emphasizes developing and building on strong fundamentals, understanding materials, and nurturing an artistic vision with patience and precision. Whether you’re a beginner seeking solid foundational skills or an experienced painter refining your craft, if you love observational painting and drawing and the satisfying creation of representational art, I’d love to have you join me.
