Ludlow Bassoons

Ludlow Bassoons is a British bassoon-making company based in Newport, South Wales in the United Kingdom.

After fifteen years of immersion in the world of bassoons - buying them, selling them, repairing and restoring them - we have now taken the next step in our story by becoming a bassoon maker, with our first bassoons becoming available in the early part of 2027.

New Name for a New Venture

The company was established in 2011 by Oliver Ludlow under the name of Double Reed Ltd.

In October 2026 we changed our trading name to Ludlow Bassoons to herald the launch of our own bassoons after 10 years of thought, discussion and work.

Our bassoons are designed and made in our workshop in South Wales.

Under our new name we are the same company as before - same owners, staff and location - continuing our work selling new and second hand bassoons, and repairing and restoring them.

Making our own bassoons is additional to, not instead of, our previous work.
