Lance and the Legionnaires

Lance & the Legionnaires were a 50s and 60s band active at Carleton College from 1973 to 1976. Our motto was: Don't Miss Your Chance to Dance to Lance! We weren't the greatest band, but then again, our audiences usually weren't in any condition to complain. It was great fun for everyone.

The original lineup was: Mike Giudici '75 as Lance, the lead singer; John "Glando" Glander '75 on alto sax & rhythm guitar; Jim "Posto" Post '76 on organ; Seth "Buzzsaw" Moskowitz '76 on lead guitar; Marshall "Glitter" Gittler '76 on drums; Mike "Lano" Lane (a townie) on vocals & Lancemobile; Jim "Cannonball" Treece '75 on tenor sax; and Steve "Huge" Heuslein '75 on bass. Cannonball and Huge left in 1974 and were replaced by Tim Corwin '75 on sax and Dave "Woody" Jensen '76 on bass. For the 75/76 school year, Lance was replaced by Jody Kruskal, also a townie, who is the only one of the group to have continued with music. David Engbring '75 was our electronics guru and Jay Swanson '75 our manager.
