Listen With Your Eyes Dance Troupe

The Listen With Your Eyes Dance Troupe was established by Brandy Mimms, a professional Deaf dancer, in June 2019 in Little Rock, Arkansas. The purpose of the troupe was to share Mimms' passion for dance and stories with both Deaf and Hearing communities and to provide a platform for adult-trained dancers and choreographers to gain experience in their dance careers. The troupe tells stories through contemporary dance, improvisation, and American Sign Language. The company aims to provide dance art productions and education about social changes and Deaf awareness, with the goal of increasing public awareness of deaf issues, people, and culture. The troupe is comprised of diverse dancers with and without hearing loss and believes that dance plays a significant role in culture and the lives of every person. Through the art of dance, the troupe strives to unify, uplift, educate, and provide a safe space and representation for both deaf and underrepresented communities.
