LUMEN WIND TRIO

LUMEN WIND TRIO

Lumen Wind Trio is an international wind ensemble consisting of three outstanding musicians and educators:

Prof. Lorenz Pichler (flute, piccolo, accordion)
Prof. Peter Pichler (clarinet, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone)
Prof. Boštjan Dimnik (artistic director, conductor, clarinet, bass clarinet, soprano and alto saxophone)

We chose the name Lumen (Latin for “light”) because it captures the essence of our musical journey: from darkness to light. For us, light is a symbol of hope, clarity and inner peace that we wish to bring to our listeners. At the same time, it alludes to the bright, transparent timbres of our instruments and to the contrasts between dark and light that we create in our programmes. As an international ensemble between Slovenia and Austria, we wanted a name that is accessible and familiar to different cultures, yet profound enough to reflect the spiritual and artistic dimension of our work.
