RICK SCHMIDT--Feature Films@Used-Car Prices

For all those indie filmmakers who wonder about jumping into the "feature filmmaking" pond, here's some exciting movies that I made by hook or crook-–-26 no/low-budget features over a 40-plus-year period. Costs ranged right down to $39 for the DV movie, THE HIGDEN MAN, which I shot in a couple days in Arkansas with local folks and non-actor leads John Barnum (RELEASE THE HEAD) and Steve Gillard (CHETZEMOKA'S CURSE).  And maybe check out my books which cover the moviemaking process–--FEATURE FILMMAKING AT USED-CAR PRICES and EXTREME DV (Penguin/Random House), plus NEW DARK AGES––HOW A PUNK MOVIE EMERALD CITIES GOT ITS IMPROV. . The take-away is that you can now make YOUR movies with affordable HD cameras or phones, shooting 4K video and editing apps. And over time, you can start to compile your own FILMOGRAPHY of completed works, maybe earning a trip to Park City/Sundance and beyond.  In any case, please enjoy my flicks!
