Keep Your Land, Keep Your Seed 

The “Keep Your Land, Keep Your Seed” campaign is an initiative by LEMU and its partners to address the critical issues of land loss, unproductive land, and the decline of indigenous seeds and food varieties in rural Uganda. With over 20 years of experience defending customary land rights, LEMU is committed to empowering local communities to achieve self-sufficiency and resilience in the face of environmental and economic challenges.

This campaign advocates for policies that secure land tenure for small-scale farmers, preserve traditional seeds and crops, and promote sustainable agricultural practices. Through partnerships with key government ministries, it seeks to safeguard Uganda’s food sovereignty and cultural heritage by supporting communities in protecting their land and cultivating traditional crops.
