Karen Bessell

Do you remember walking into a sweet shop as a kid? All those jars, and not knowing where to look first? My grandad had one in Penzance called The Nook, and to me it was Willy Wonka's factory. That's what I want this channel to feel like.

So come in and have a nose around. There's drawing, painting, tips and techniques, honest chats about creativity and wellbeing, a peek behind the scenes at U Create, and plenty of mistakes left in.

If you're an art teacher thinking about going it alone, a student wondering if you're allowed to call yourself an artist, a market-stall maker not sure you count, or someone who wants more creativity in your life but hasn't a clue where to start, you're in the right place.

I'm Karen, by the way. Artist, art educator and slightly bonkers Cornish girl living in Brisbane.

Grab a cuppa, bring whatever art materials you have and come have a natter. There's room for you here.
