Jolwe Integrated Farm Enterprises

Jolwe Integrated Farm Enterprises, also known as Jolwe Farm Group, is a leading commercial agribusiness in Wakiso District, Uganda, founded by Dr. Richard Wemesa—an economist and former banker. What began as a small maize farm in 2019 has grown into a highly efficient, integrated farming system where crops, livestock, and processing units work together to reduce waste and maximize productivity.

After early challenges with low maize prices, Dr. Wemesa shifted to value addition by establishing a grain milling enterprise, supported by bank financing. Today, the farm spans over 50 acres and includes maize cultivation, a milling plant, poultry (15,000+ layers), piggery (1,000+ pigs), dairy, and fish farming.

Jolwe Farm employs over 60 people and serves as a training hub for farmers transitioning to commercial agriculture. Recognized in the 2025 Vision Group Best Farmers Awards, it stands as a model of innovation, sustainability, and modern agribusiness in Africa.
