Inside the Archive: Graciela Sacco

Graciela Sacco (1956–2017) was one of the most prominent Argentine artists of her generation. Her work—of strong aesthetic, political, and conceptual relevance—remains deeply resonant today.

She worked mainly with light and graphics, using photosensitive processes to explore themes like transit, exile, migration, inhabited and imagined spaces, and resistance. Her art invites reflection on political and social violence, with recurring references that take on a timeless quality.

This channel offers a personal journey through her archive, based on research by Dr. Clara Garavelli, co-director of the Graciela Sacco Estate and researcher at the University of Leicester (UK).

The project reveals little-known material, showcasing a vital part of Argentina’s artistic heritage and global contemporary art.
