Uphill Downhill - I'm fine either way

After 31 years of marriage, years of dreaming, and a decade+ of backpacking together, we are finally doing it — we're hiking the Pacific Crest Trail in 2026! We are taking a sabbatical from work, lacing up our boots and rocking 2650 miles of trail from the California desert all the way to the Canadian border. Apparently a nice beach vacation just wasn't good enough. Backpacking captured our hearts years ago and the PCT has been calling us ever since………we've finally stopped hitting snooze. Luckily, we won't be doing it entirely alone - our kids, who inherited our love of the outdoors, will be joining us along the way for resupplies and trail magic. Our amazing friends will also be hiking sections with us and showing up with some magic of their own (beer), but probably just making sure we're still alive. Follow along for this honest, unfiltered, and occasionally ridiculous journey of two people in their 50s chasing a dream one step at a time — sore knees, questionable decisions, and all.
