Hejira - Celebrating the Music of Joni Mitchell

Hejira is a brilliant 7-piece British band formed in Oxford, England, specifically dedicated to honoring the masterworks of folk and jazz icon Joni Mitchell. Comprising a stellar lineup of world-class UK jazz musicians—including guitarist Pete Oxley, bassist Dave Jones, and the captivating vocal and guitar stylings of frontwoman Hattie Whitehead—the ensemble masterfully replicates the complex, beautiful arrangements of Mitchell’s late-1970s "jazz period." 

Their rich repertoire pulls heavily from Mitchell’s seminal 1979 live album Shadows and Light.  After sweeping across the UK and capturing widespread critical acclaim, the group is officially crossing the Atlantic for an highly anticipated summer tour in North America. This stateside journey kicks off on July 7th, 2026,  with a debut performance at Big Bear Lodge in the Andres Institute of Art in Brookline, New Hampshire, before the band heads down the East Coast to grace major stages like the Syracuse Jazz Festival
