Welcome to the Heart of the Valley podcast with host Christina Cavallaro recorded from the historic Bank of Italy building constructed in 1922 and home of The Independent newspaper in downtown Livermore, California, one of the last remaining printed publications in the area it serves east of San Francisco. Christina’s popular column, has been a series of love letters to the hometown she returned to in the East Bay’s Tri-Valley region after years away. On the journey to self-discovery, Christina got out of what was her small cowboy winery town as fast as she could after high school and until her return three years ago, thought she had outgrown the place. It turns out it had outgrown her expectations.The HOV podcast captures the flashes of humor and poignancy that don’t always make the page.
