Greening the Mojave desert on the Elephant farm.

Our greening the desert project is located on the eastern edge of the Mojave Desert, right where the Sonoran Desert begins on the other side of the Hualapai Mountains. Living in the rain shadow of these mountains means very little rainfall, making it a challenge to grow anything. But with the use of earthworks, solar and wind power, and sustainable practices, we're creating a green space in this remote desert. We also raise goats and chickens as part of our off-grid journey.
