Green-Mem

Green-Mem — Pioneering Membrane Solutions for a Sustainable Future — is a Horizon Europe Marie Skłodowska-Curie Staff Exchanges project developing fully bio-based and biodegradable membranes for cleaner, safer and more sustainable separation technologies.

The project addresses a key challenge in membrane technology: conventional polymer membranes are often fossil-based, non-biodegradable and produced using hazardous solvents. Green-Mem is working to replace these materials with renewable alternatives such as cellulose, chitosan and natural fibres, while applying green chemistry and engineering principles throughout the design and fabrication process.
