Grassroots Repsonse to Ukrainian Crisis

We are a volunteer-led grassroots group from the Waterloo Region that was founded in February 2022 following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. We are your next-door neighbors, your co-workers, your family, the person you go to church with. 

WR Grassroots Response began by building a network of volunteers who would open their homes and their hearts to Ukrainians fleeing to Ontario. In less than two years, we have grown from one individual to over 800 volunteers and five paid staff. 

Due to the influx of applications from newcomers, our group is transforming and expanding beyond the Region of Waterloo. We are creating clusters for more targeted and efficient operations to facilitate this growth.
