Hitz FM memories with Gabe McGrath

In 1992, some Melbourne teenagers created their own radio station called Hitz FM. They burst onto the airwaves using borrowed gear and two small rooms in a highschool. A year later, they'd stolen so many young listeners, the number 1 station in town crashed down to number 4! Hitz appeared in every newspaper and TV news bulletin over Summer 93/94. And in the years that followed, the station released its own CDs, started its own TV show and trained hundreds of volunteers in media and promotions.

Gabe McGrath was part of the team that helped set up Hitz FM. He hosted their first breakfast show!
