Don Mathis | Original Songs & Stories

A Personal Note
I am sharing these original songs, written from the mid-1970s through 2012, in five collections.

Each song grew out of a personal experience, a memory, or an observation. Together, they represent a large part of my life and the things I felt were worth putting into words and music.

To My Family
When my time on this accursed Earth is over, I hope you will come back here from time to time—not only to listen, but to remember.

Maybe these songs will answer a few questions we never got around to discussing. Maybe they will bring back the good times, the not-so-good times, and everything in between.

Most of all, I hope they help you remember me honestly.

To Steve and Andi
These songs are your legacy.

After I am gone, they belong to both of you. Do with them whatever you wish—share them, preserve them, or simply keep them for yourselves.

Just promise me one thing: don’t fight over this shit.

I hope you both live long, full lives and grow very old.
