Funkbud Johnny

Funkbud Johnny is a six-piece electric band from Indianapolis, Indiana, known for playing primarily original material alongside a selection of fun covers. Their sound draws influence from jam and classic rock traditions — with notable inspiration from groups like The Allman Brothers Band and The Grateful Dead — blending rock, improvisation, and groove-oriented jamming into their live performances.

Led by front-man Josh Oldham, the group has existed in a few different forms over the years as a musical vehicle for his broad repertoire of original music, and the current lineup features musicians from other local projects such as Stardust Social Club, Midwest Rhythm Exchange, and Acoustic Flyer.

Funkbud Johnny has built a reputation on the local live circuit, including standout performances at events like Harmony Valley Music Festival and repeated shows at Indy venues like The Mousetrap Bar & Grill.
