First Seating - Conversations for Curious Diners

The most memorable meals are never just about the food.

First Seating is a podcast about extraordinary dining and the hospitality, craftsmanship, culture, travel, anticipation, and emotion surrounding it. Hosted by veteran wine journalist and media professional Jacqueline Coleman and educator and enthusiastic diner Katie Metz, the show explores Michelin stars, tasting menus, wine, restaurant culture, luxury, value, and the strange magic that can happen when we sit down at a table.

This isn’t a show about scoring restaurants or declaring where everyone must eat. Through personal stories, thoughtful field reports, and conversations with the people who shape dining, each episode asks a bigger question: What makes hospitality unforgettable? When is an expensive meal worth it? Why do certain restaurants stay with us?

Whether you’re contemplating your first tasting menu or planning a trip around your fiftieth, First Seating welcomes you to the conversation.
