Festival Portugal International of Montreal

The festival is open to the public and usually takes place outdoors. This is, without a doubt, the most representative meeting of Portuguese speakers and the most significant in promoting the Portuguese language and culture in Montreal. Thanks to its former colonies (Brazil, Goa, Angola, Mozambique, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, São Tomé and Príncipe and Macau), the Portuguese language today occupies 5th place on the list of the most spoken mother tongues in the world and 3rd place on the list of the main international communication languages, after Spanish and English.
