Energize New Mexico

Who decides what we pay for energy — and why?

Energize New Mexico is a podcast dedicated to making New Mexico’s energy system easier to understand and connecting the decisions being made about electricity, utilities, infrastructure, and clean energy to the everyday lives of New Mexicans.

Through conversations with community members, small business owners, advocates, experts, and decision-makers, we break down questions like: Why are electric bills rising? What does the Public Regulation Commission actually do? Who decides what utilities can charge? And what can New Mexicans do to help shape a more affordable, reliable, and accountable energy future?

Our goal is simple: make complicated energy issues understandable, center the people affected by these decisions, and help more New Mexicans recognize the power of their voice.

New episodes explore energy affordability, utility accountability, clean energy solutions, community stories, and the decisions shaping New Mexico’s future.
