Your Emotions: A User's Guide

Dr. Les Greenberg has studied emotion for more than 50 years. In this 12-episode podcast, he explains how emotions work, how they can work for us, and how our reliance on coping and emotion regulation can sometimes keep us stuck in anxiety, depression, and trauma symptoms.

In conversations with therapist Michele Carroll, MA, AMFT, Dr. Greenberg offers a practical user’s guide to understanding your emotional system and working with emotions to change how you feel from the inside out. This is his first project for a general audience.

Dr. Greenberg is Distinguished Research Professor Emeritus of Psychology at York University in Toronto and the primary developer of Emotion-Focused Therapy. He received the APA Award for Distinguished Research Career.

Michele Carroll is an emotion-focused psychotherapist in Los Angeles, California. She proposed this project after several clients told her they wished someone had explained how their emotional systems work. She’s grateful Les said yes.
