Dying of the Light

We are a five piece Blackgaze formation from Germany, consisting of Joshua Born (vocals), Marco Feißkohl (rhythm guitar), Sebastian Brecht (lead guitar), Jan Emig (bass guitar), and Julian Gräber (drums).
Born from the remnants of an instrumental Post-rock outfit by the name of 'Under a Lowering Sky', we emerged at the end of 2022 as a new band, joining the tranquil, dreamy soundscape of our Post-rock past with dark, intense riffs and vocals inspired by our mutual love for Black Metal, resolving the resulting juxtaposition in a dense, gripping atmosphere. Through our songs we aim to tell a story charged with emotion, which takes the listener on a journey through frozen forests, sorrowful crepuscule, and dreams of death.
Though our sound is shaped by the many different inspirations each of us brings to the band, we have been compared to Harakiri for the Sky, Heretoir, and Der Weg einer Freiheit.
