Duchess( The South Meets the West) 

I started off as a Single Mother of three children born and raised in Colorado who took a leap of faith and moved to the South,North Carolina.I came down here with nothing but a food stamp card and clothes on my back.Sold everything back home bout a bus ticket Greyhound and stayed in the family house til my house got ready for me to move in.With the help of the elders in my family and strangers that turned into friends that got me on my feet and it's been a hilarious,adventurous journey.I've been figuring out this homesteading thing out along with accomplishing my educational goals.While raising now four children with a wonderful,lovely,army behind me. bottom line is if you've been thinking about wanting to move to the South or anywhere and your scared to do it, this is ur sign to just do it.It ain't been perfect but it's worth it.If anything was perfect it would be boring.I promise your not missing out on nothing in your hometown.Everyone I knew has gotten worse through out time.
