The Directorate of Nature and Environment is a dedicated government institution with the task of:

Preparing, shaping, implementing and evaluating policies that lead to a sustainable healthy living environment for people and the environment in Aruba, with the focus on preserving, protecting and improving natural and environmental qualities.
The Directorate of Nature and Environment (DNM) was formally established on 1 January 2012 pursuant to national decree of 30 November 2012. The DNM is primarily a policy body and has the following core tasks:

Policy formulation
Research and monitoring
Inspection
