Dad’s Trains

Welcome to Dad’s Trains. 🚂

These were Dad’s trains, and now I get to bring them back to life.

Model trains have been part of my family for three generations. After spending nearly three decades packed away, the collection is coming out of its boxes and going back on the rails.

I’m building a new home for the trains and documenting the journey along the way, from rediscovering and restoring vintage locomotives, cars, buildings and accessories to trackwork, wiring, scenery and, most importantly, the stories and memories behind it all.

Some of these trains I remember running with Dad when I was growing up. Others reach back another generation. Now they get to become part of something new.

This channel will have plenty of model railroading, a little trial and error, and a lot of family history.

Three Generations. One Railroad Story.

Welcome aboard.
