Cuitlahuac A. Martinez, an independent academic and language activist, founded the Speaknahuatl.com collective in 2018. Originally from Southern and Baja California, with familial roots in Jalisco and Sinaloa, they now live in Oregon, USA. Since 2017, they have taught Nahuatl with elements of Native and Mesoamerican studies online and in person, promoting Mesoamerican languages and cultures.
