Coro Farthan - Marzabotto (Bologna - Italy)

Genius, creative force

The vocal group Farthan was born to gather the best vocal-creative energies of the Reno Valley close di Bologna area in Italy) around a choral project that aims to be innovative starting from the name itself, drawn from the ancient Etruscan language. From the fascinating etymology of the name (literally "genius, creative force"), linked to the country in which it is based (Marzabotto, an ancient Etruscan settlement on the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines), we have a innovative choice of songs'repertoire: multifaceted, unconventional, multi-ethnic! The original fascination, the imprinting, is however the singing of oral tradition, Italian and not, with a strong predilection for a "feminine" repertoire.
Since the foundation the Choir is directed by Maestra Elide Melchioni.
