Comet Chasing

Welcome to the Comet Chasing YouTube channel, an extension the Comet Chasing web page that has served comet observers for nearly 20 years. If you're intrigued by the visual observation of comets and want to know which ones can be seen in your binoculars or telescope, and how to find them, you've come to the right place.

The Comet Chasing channel was created by an astronomer and looks at the currently visible comets. We will post regularly at at start of each month, or as necessary if something interesting occurs, such as a new discovery or outburst. Subscribe to quickly find out the latest comet news.

Predicting comet visibility is not simple. Our predictions are crafted with unique software that considers the full complexity of predicting the required aperture, including the size and concentration of the coma, based on code developed for SkyTools, ensuring accuracy and reliability. SkyTools is the most powerful software for comet chasing.

🔭 Happy comet chasing!
