City Science Laboratory — University of Bologna

Research seminars and talks from the City Science Laboratory, Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Bologna.

We bring together physics, mathematics and computer science to study complex urban systems. Our research spans urban digital twins, mobility, climate, energy and synthetic populations, combining statistical methods, agent-based modelling, generative AI and high-performance computing.

The Synthetic Populations Seminar Series explores how geographically detailed populations are constructed, validated and used in simulations, with applications across urban research, public health and medicine, economics, finance and communication. The seminars are held in English, in Bologna and online.

This channel shares recordings and research perspectives from the laboratory and its guests.
