The Overseas Athlete

The Overseas Athlete helps athletes and their families get overseas, settle in and build a life abroad.

Moving overseas for sport is the dream, but nobody warns you about the contracts, visas, banking, tax and loneliness, or what happens when you come home.

Each week we talk to players who've done it and the specialists who help them. Real stories, practical advice, no hype.

We cover four stages of the journey:

- Chasing Pro: trials, contracts and getting your first move
- The First 90 Days: visas, banking, housing and settling in
- Life Abroad: money, tax, family and building a career overseas
- Coming Home: moving back, tax on return and life after sport

Hosted by Chris Broadfoot, who made his pro football debut at 29 and has spent 11 years moving money for athletes worldwide.

New episodes, segments and shorts every week.
