The Earth You Know

Every country has an origin story — and it's almost never the one you think.

The Earth You Know cuts open one country at a time: where its name really comes from, how its borders were drawn, which empires, migrations and accidents shaped it, and what ended up on its plates. History, geography, culture and food — told in a hand-made paper collage style, in about ten minutes per country.

Every episode is built on sources: encyclopedias, national statistics, UNESCO and historians. Where the evidence is thin, we say so. Myths get corrected, not repeated.

New episodes every Monday and Thursday.
Short stories from each country on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
