Central Baptist Church Sutherlin, OR

In 1969, Apollo 11 carried the first man to walk on the moon. As Neil Armstrong took his first steps on the moon, the world heard him say: "One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." Man walking on the moon was truly a giant step for mankind. A giant step of another kind was also made in 1969. A small group of Bible believers that had been meeting in Union Gap, Oregon, since 1966 took a giant step of faith; and on October 12, 1969 organized what is now known as Central Baptist Church of Sutherlin, Oregon.

For almost 60 years Central Baptist Church has sought to be a light of the Gospel in the city of Sutherlin Oregon.
