Center for Youth and Family Advocacy 

The Center for Youth and Family Advocacy (CYFA) uses collective impact, restorative practices, education, and advocacy to transform systems and create sustainable conditions necessary for children, youth, and families to thrive in safe and healthy communities.  CYFA’s BuildStrong Initiative is a complex, adaptive system that provides the framework for operationalizing CYFA’s mission through nine (9) programs:  1) Integrated Model of Partnership to Achieve Community-Based Transformation (IMPACT), 2) Guiding Personal Success (GPS), 3) PEER, 4) YPC, 5) Relax Relate Restore (RRR), 6) Legal Advocacy Workshops (LAW), 7) Campaign to Amplify Racial Equity (CARE); 8) Real Experiences Assisting Community Healing (REACH); and 9) Addressing Root Causes (ARC).  CYFA’s programming falls on a continuum from promotion and prevention to intervention and serious intervention recognizing, as Frederick Douglass so powerfully stated, “It is easier to build strong children than repair broken men.”
