California GACCs - Predictive Services

The California Geographic Area Coordination Centers (GACCs) are the focal points for coordinating the mobilization of resources for wildland fire and other incidents throughout California. Northern Operations (ONC) is located in Redding, CA and Southern Operations (OSC) is located in Riverside, CA. The Centers also provide Intelligence and Predictive Services related products designed to be used by the internal wildland fire community for purposes of wildland fire and incident management decision-making. Both California GACCs include agency representation from the US Forest Service, Department of the Interior, and CAL FIRE.

Predictive Services was developed to provide decision support to fire management, offering detailed information on anticipated significant fire activity and potential resource needs. Predictive Services consists of three functional areas: fire weather, fire danger/fuels, and fire intelligence.
