The Bulgarian Geographical Society (BGS) is an organization for public benefit. The mission of the BGS is to bring together geographers and all those concerning geographical knowledge.

BGS is the oldest professional organization of geographers in Bulgaria. It was founded more than 100 years ago, in 1918, in times of national and political crisis. BGS creates educational content, organizes scientific and popular events, and develops publishing activities throughout its prestigious internationally indexed journal.
