The Brass Monkey Tropical Hideaway

Welcome to The Brass Monkey Tropical Hideaway—documenting mid-century tiki culture, cocktail archaeology, and the art of tropical escapism. 🗿🍹

Here we explore:
• Living Tiki History: Behind-the-scenes preservation, lost roadside architecture, and historic sanctuaries like The Mai-Kai.
• Cocktail Archaeology: Extinct 1950s rum recipes, vintage cocktail specs, and spirit reconstructions with legendary distillers.
• Artisans & Craftsmen: The carvers, artists, and historians keeping Polynesian pop alive (Barney West Moai, vintage ephemera, and mug collecting).
• The Home Bar Build: How I built a full immersive tiki hideaway from scratch.

If you love vintage cocktails, mid-century exotica, and refusing to let history fade into oblivion, pull up a stool.
